Java Sea Imports is a family owned and operated business located in Dripping Springs, Texas, featuring an international collection of furnishing and accessories for home and gardens.
The idea of an import business was spawned by our family's love of adventure and travel to foreign lands, and the desire to share with others a sampling of some of the treasures we have gathered.
The majority of our furniture is handcrafted from mahogany and teak in small villages in East Java and Bali. These exotic woods, harvested from plantations planted by Dutch colonists, are from the world's oldest managed forests. The Dutch, arriving in the early 18th century, brought to this archipelago in the Java Sea, the trappings of their European lifestyle, which have been blended into the culture of the native people, and are reflected in Indonesian arts and crafts.
In addition to our Indonesian collection, we are direct importers from India, Asia, and Mexico. Many of these unique pieces of furniture are constructed from antique doors and reclaimed wood.
Some architectural elements are included in our treasure trove, ranging from antique mesquite doors from a Mexican Hacienda to an Asian buffet, antique teak doors from an Indonesian palace, and ornamental iron gates from France.
We hope you enjoy this visual journey to far away places, and invite you to come see us at 911 W. Hwy. 290 West in Dripping Springs, Texas - Gateway to the Texas Hill Country.
